Two ideas were communicated:
- That music too was to be understood as 'avant-garde' 'infused by a spirit of bold artistic exploration.
- It was 'futuristic', anticipating a new world that would be different from everything we know, but in some sense still positive.
However they took influence from a failed political movement?

Against authorship
'The very notion of an 'author' as a validating source of authority for a cultural work is outdated, backward looking and reactionary.'
